According to WCNC, a 48-year-old pedestrian dies after being hit by a car driven by a reckless driver in Charlotte, North Carolina, on Monday.

Details of the Fatal Pedestrian Crash

Robert Melton, 48, was walking near the intersection of Independence Boulevard and Village Lake Drive when the accident happened. Melton attempted to cross the street when he was struck by a car passing through the intersection.

The car was driven by 38-year-old Wayne Eric Daniel, reports WCNC. Officials say Melton was crossing the road outside of a crosswalk when he was struck.
