Pedestrian Killed in Hit-and-run; Police Searching for Driver

According to FOX10, a pedestrian suffered fatal injuries after being hit by a car while crossing the road in Phoenix, Arizona, on Monday morning.

Details of Fatal Pedestrian Accident

The pedestrian accident occurred at around 7:10 a.m. local time near 7th Avenue and Camelback Road. A man in his 50s was crossing the road when he was struck by a vehicle. The car did not stop after hitting the man and drove away from the scene.

Officials say the man was transported to a local hospital in critical condition, but would later be pronounced dead. The man’s identity has not been released, reports FOX10.

Police are searching for a silver 2007 – 2010 model year Volkswagen Touareg, according to FOX10. They believe it has damage on the driver’s side. The pedestrian was crossing mid-block and not in a crosswalk when he was struck.
