Pedestrian Killed in Multiple Vehicle Collision Accident on Friday Night

An unnamed woman in her 30s was killed after being hit by several cars Friday night.

About the Fatal Pedestrian Accident

While details are still scarce, KXAN-TV reports this incident took place not far from Westlake High School. The victim died at the scene, and traffic northbound was temporarily halted for several hours as a result.

This accident took place at around the northbound lanes of Texas Highway at Westbank Drive (an area where there are usually few pedestrians) around 10 pm. last Friday evening.

The woman was struck by as many as three different vehicles, and it is unclear as of yet where she intended to walk to or whether excessive speed by the drivers was a factor in the accident.

  • In 2015, there were a total of 51 pedestrian fatalities, a 12.7% increase from 2014. There were also 246,335 people killed in motor vehicle traffic crashes in 2015.
