Pedestrian Struck, Trapped Underneath City Bus

According to NBC Bay Area, a female pedestrian was hit by a bus, causing her traumatic injuries as she was trapped underneath in San Francisco, California, on Monday evening.

Details of Pedestrian-Bus Collision

The accident occurred at the intersection of Market Street and Third Street – an intersection infamous for its pedestrian accidents. A woman was crossing the street as a San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency bus approached the intersection.

Witnesses say the woman was running across the street when she was struck by the bus, reports NBC Bay Area. Firefighters and bystanders helped rescue the woman who was trapped underneath the bus. She was taken to a trauma center where her condition is not currently known.

The intersection was closed as officials investigated and cleared the scene. The cause of the crash is unknown. One resident in the area says she hears screeching occur at the intersection often, reports NBC Bay Area.
