Pier 1 Imports Recalls Decorative Glass Knobs Due to a Laceration Risk

breaking news sign with large words

Pier 1 Imports is issuing a recall on approximately 140,000 glass knobs due to a risk of laceration from broken pieces of glass.

About the Pier 1 Imports Glass Knob Recall

According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), the recalled knobs can break while in use, creating broken pieces and shards of glass that can cut the user and pose a laceration risk.

Pier 1 Imports received several reports of glass knobs breaking during installation and during use. Consumers are urged to refrain from using the recalled glass knobs and return them to the nearest Pier 1 Imports store for a full refund.

Description of the Recalled Pier 1 Imports Glass Knob

The recall affects several glass knob models used with dressers, cabinets, and small drawers. The glass knobs come in a variety of colors, including pink, teal, clear, green, aquamarine, champagne, and silver. Only these decorative knobs from the Basic, Kira, and Facets collection are included in the recall.

Pier 1 Imports stores nationwide and online sold the recalled units between September 2011 and October 2016.

In addition to the approximately 140,000 knobs recalled in the United States, 17,600 units were sold in Canada.
