recall attorney

Polaris Industries has recalled 10,700 off-road four-wheelers due to a fire hazard.

About the Polaris ATV Recall

Polaris has issued a recall for 2016 RZR XP Turbo models and RZR XP 4 Turbo recreational vehicles. According to the StarTribune, the ATV’s engine can overheat and the turbo system’s drain tube can loosen, both of which pose a fire hazard.

There have been 19 reports of vehicle fires where six were injured. 15 acres of Utah forest have also been destroyed.

Consumers are advised to stop using the recalled vehicles immediately and to take them to a dealership for a free repair.

Description of Recalled ATVs

Information provided by StarTribune:

  • The recalled ATVs have either two or four seats.
  • The recalled ATVs also have a rear box where the letters RZR can be found.
  • The recalled ATVs were sold from August 2015-July 2016.
  • Polaris Industries is also awarding all 2016 Turbo owners with an additional 12 months of warranty and is offering a $1,000 loyalty discount on any Polaris side-by-side vehicle purchased by the end of 2017.
