Police Officer Injured in San Antonio Collision

A police officer was sent to the hospital after being involved in an accident in San Antonio.

Details about the Officer-Involved Accident

The San Antonio Express-News is reporting that San Antonio police are currently investigating the cause of an accident that happened along the 2700 block of Culebra Road that sent one police officer to the hospital on Monday afternoon.

Police have stated that the accident involved a silver SUV and a police vehicle, which resulted in the shut down of a part of Culebra Road for more than an hour while police conducted their preliminary investigation.

Witnessed have stated that a man was attempting to turn out of an Exxon on North General McMullen and Culebra Road when the SUV collided with a police cruiser. Emergency crews arrived and removed the police officer from the vehicle and transported him to the hospital.

At this time, the conditions of both the officer and the other driver have not been released.
