Service members are expected to join an upcoming lawsuit over faulty earplugs issued to the U.S. military.
About the Defective 3M Earplug Lawsuit
According to news4sanantonio.com, a lawsuit is expected to be filed Friday, March 8, against 3M Company (3M), a military contractor accused of deliberately selling defective earplugs to the U.S. military. Approximately 25 former and current service members are expected to claim damages.
The earplugs were found to be too short, meaning they didn’t always provide adequate hearing protection and led to long-lasting damage. Millions of the defective earplugs were sold to the military from 2003 to 2015, and in 2018 3M settled a suit for failing to disclose the product defect. There have been 319 suits brought against 3M so far.
