Manhattan Toy has recalled over 1,000 children’s books due to a metal grommet that poses a choking hazard.
About the Children’s Books Recall
The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) reports that the grommet attaching a piece of fabric to a page of the book can detach, creating a choking hazard for small children. The CPSC advises immediately taking the books away from children and contacting Manhattan Toy or the place of purchase for a full refund.
Description of Recalled Children’s Books
Following information provided by the CPSC:
- The recalled books are titled “Find the Bear” and are made of soft fabric with pieces of fabric attached to the pages.
- There are blue and purple stripes on the cover, along with an image of a panda bear.
- The Manhattan Toy logo, as well as lot code 208150 AJ are printed on sewn-in labels.
- The books were available nationwide at independent retailers, as well as websites including Amazon.com, from March 2017 through July 2018 for about $18.
