Fiat Chrysler is issuing a recall on more than 224,000 Jeep Wrangler vehicles because of an airbag problem.
About the Fiat Chrysler Jeep Wrangler Recall
According to several media outlets, the recall is due to the airbags in certain Jeep Wrangler models not deploying during a crash.
Fiat Chrysler says a wire to an airbag sensor could come loose, preventing the seat belt pretensioners and airbags from working correctly during a wreck.
Although no issue has been reported, Fiat Chrysler discovered the problem in the recalled vehicles during crash tests. When the recall begins, dealers will be able to fix the wiring issue free of charge. Owners will be notified by Fiat Chrysler when the recall begins and repairs are ready to take place.
Description of the Recalled Jeep Wrangler Vehicles
The recall includes certain model year 2016 and 2017 Jeep Wranglers. Fiat Chrysler says the 2017 models have yet to be sold to the public.
