Ford Recalls Transit Connect Vehicles over Panoramic Roof Issue

”breaking

Ford is issuing a recall on 2,592 Ford Transit Connect vehicles because a defect in the panoramic roof bond may cause it to separate from the vehicle while driving.

About the Ford Transit Connect Recall

According to Ford, an improper bond between the panoramic roof and the body of the vehicle spurred the recall. The defective bond can cause wind noise, water leaks, and separation of the panoramic roof from the recalled vehicle.

Roof separation while driving could increase the risk of crash and injury. No crashes or injuries have been reported due to the panoramic roof issue, according to Ford.

Dealers will provide a free removal, cleaning, and reinstallation of the panoramic roof on the recalled vehicles.

Description of the Recalled 2014 Ford Transit Connect Vehicles

The recalled vehicles include:

  • 2014 Ford Transit Connect built at the Valencia Assembly Plant
    • Manufactured between Oct. 4, 2013, and July 14, 2014.

Approximately 887 vehicles are affected by the recall in the United States.
