Foster Farms Recalls 132,000 Pounds of Frozen Chicken

Foster Farms has recalled 131,880 pounds of frozen breaded chicken breast patties for possible plastic contamination.

About the Foster Farms Chicken Recall

According to KTTN, the recalled products were shipped from a plant in Farmerville, La., to Costco distribution centers in Alaska, Arizona, California, Utah, and Washington. 3,297 cases were distributed.

The recall follows three consumer complaints on March 22, April 3, and April 15 concerning plastic found in the packaging of the 5-pound, frozen, ready-to-eat, breaded chicken patties with rib meat. Consumers described the pieces as clear, soft plastic.

The recalled products have a “Best By” date of 02/15/1 and an establishment number “P-33901” inside the USDA mark of inspection.

Recommended Consumer Action

The USDA has labeled this a Class II recall. As such, consumers are urged to throw away the products or return them to their place of purchase.

There have been not confirmed adverse reactions reported in connection with the recalled Foster Farms chicken.
