GM Recalls 3.4 Million Vehicles For Defective Brakes
Jarod Cassidy3 months ago
General Motors (GM) has issued a recall for more than 3.4 million pickups and SUVs to fix potentially defective brakes. GM’s decision follows pressure from federal regulators.
About the GM Brake Recall
According to USA Today, the recall involves defective brakes that may leave drivers dealing with increased stopping distances and an increased risk of crash.
Recall documents suggest the pump in the power-assist brakes can put out less vacuum power than needed, leading to increased stopping distances. The issue was investigated by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration beginning in November.
Dealer do have a fix in order, and owners can bring in their vehicles to have their electronic brake control module re-calibrated.
