Hammerhead Off-Road Recalls Fun-Karts for Fire Risk

According to the U.S. Consumer Safety Commission (CPSC), Hammerhead Off-Road has recalled multiple Fun-Kart models due to a fire hazard caused by cracking fuel tanks.

About the Hammerhead Fun-Kart Recall

The recall involves three different kart models, Hammerhead Off-Road GL 150, GTS 150 and GTS Platinum Fun-Kart, from model years 2009 through 2015

9,900 Karts have been sold nationwide for between $2,100 and $2,900.

Free replacement fuel tanks are being provided to consumers by Hammerhead Off-Road Inc.

The karts are manufactured in China and imported and distributed by Hammerhead Off-Road Inc. of Flower Mound, Texas.

Description of the Recalled Hammerhead Off-Road Karts

The karts have two seats and a rear cargo rack and are sold in red, black, white, orange, blue and green.

GTS is printed on the side cage and the hood of GTS models and “Hammerhead” is printed on the hood of the GL models.

Serial numbers can be found on the cross bar behind the seats.
