Husqvarna Recalls Lawn Mowers over Laceration Risk

Husqvarna is issuing a recall on approximately 235,000 lawn mower models over a risk of laceration to the operator.

About the Husqvarna Lawn Mower Recall

According to the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), the recalled lawn mowers have presence control bars that can malfunction. The malfunction can cause the engine and blades to remain running when they are designed to shut off.

The company has received over 50 reports of the engine not shutting off as it is designed to in the recalled products. No injuries have been reportedly linked to the malfunctioning lawn mowers.

Consumers are advised to stop using the recalled lawn mowers immediately. Husqvarna can be contacted to determine if a lawn mower needs repaired, free of charge.

The Husqvarna recall includes walk-behind gas-powered lawn mowers with Briggs & Stratton 7.25 HP engines.

Brand names are printed on the mowers along with a Briggs & Stratton logo on the engine shield. The model and serial number can be found on the rear of the mowing deck.

These lawn mowers were sold at Lowe’s, Sears, and other hardware stores and equipment dealers across the nation between November 2015 and August 2016.
