Hyland’s Baby Teething Tablets Recalled for Toxic Risk

Standard Homeopathic Company has issued a recall for all lots of Hyland’s Baby Teething Tablets and Hyland’s Baby Nighttime Teething Tablets. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has determined the products can pose a toxic risk to children.

About the Hyland’s Baby Teething Tablet Recall

In a release, the FDA cites inconsistent amounts of belladonna alkaloids that may differ from the calculated amount listed on the products’ labels. Additionally, the FDA states that “there is no known safe dose or toxic dose of belladonna in children because of the many factors that affect it.”

They Hyland’s Baby Teething Tablets and Hyland’s Baby Nighttime Teething Tablets are meant to provide temporary relief for children with symptoms of teething and were sold at retailers nationwide. However, Standard Homeopathic Company discontinued marketing and shipping of the medicines in October 2016.

The current recall is meant to ensure that all products sold at the consumer level are properly discarded.
