Kawasaki Recalls Multiple Utility and All-terrain Vehicle Models for Fire Hazard
Kawasaki has recalled approximately 6,600 utility vehicles, all-terrain vehicles, and recreational off-highway vehicles due to a fuel gauge issue that can lead to a fire hazard.
About the Kawasaki Vehicle Recall
The Kawasaki vehicles were recalled on June 20th, 2017, and include 2017 Mule™ utility vehicles, Teryx® and Teryx4™ recreational off-highway vehicles, and Brute Force® 750 vehicles.
Vehicles with the defective fuel gauges were sold at Kawasaki retailers from March 2017 through April 2017.
The source of the possible fire hazard is the fuel gauge for all of the aforementioned vehicles. It’s possible that the fuel gauge can collapse and then leak fuel, which poses a risk for fire-related incidents and injuries. The United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) states that no injuries have been reported.
Suggested Consumer Action
Consumers have been advised to stop using the recalled vehicles and to contact Kawasaki for a free repair.
