KTM North America Recalls Off-Road Motorcycles over Crash Hazard

KTM North America/Husqvarna Motorcycles is issuing a recall on approximately 1,200 closed-course, competition off-road motorcycles due to a crash hazard.

About the KTM North America Off-road Motorcycle Recall

According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), the motorcycle recall is due to a malfunctioning front brake master cylinder that can cause a crash and injury risk for users.

No injuries have been reportedly linked to the recalled KTM North America motorcycles. Consumers are urged to stop using the motorcycles immediately and to contact an authorized dealer to schedule a repair, free of charge.

Description of the Recalled Off-road Motorcycles

The recall includes model year 2017 KTM brand and Husqvarna closed-course/competition only motorcycles.

The recall affects the following KTM North America models:

  • 150 XC-W
  • 250 XC-W
  • 300 XC-W
  • 350 SX-F
  • 450 XC-F

Recalled KTM motorcycles are orange and black with the KTM logo and engine size on both sides of the fuel tank shrouds.

The recall affects the following Husqvarna models:

  • TC 250
  • TX 300
  • FC 350

Recalled Husqvarna motorcycles are white with blue and yellow markings with the Husqvarna logo on both sides of the fuel tank shrouds.

The recalled units were sold at KTM and Husqvarna Motorcycles authorized dealers nationwide between June 2016 and August 2016.
