Lexus Recalls 115,000 Vehicles for Fire Risk

115,000 Lexus convertibles and sedans have been recalled by Toyota in the U.S. due to the risk that a fuel leak may lead to a fire.

About the Recalled Lexus Fire Recall

According to Consumer Reports, owners of the IS and GS will be notified in August of the fire risk, and that their cars have been recalled. The recall applies specifically to those IS and GS models which have a six-cylinder engine.

A seal may harden a crack over time in the fuel-injection system, which allows gasoline to leak. According to Toyota, such a leak near an ignition sources can cause a fire.

The problem can remedied by bringing the car to a Lexus dealer, where the fuel delivery pipe will be replaced at no cost to the customer.
