Miles Industries Recalls Over 1,000 Gas Fireplaces

John Curiel2 years ago

Canadian home heating company Miles Industries is recalling more than 1,000 Valor H5 gas fireplaces due to a burn hazard.

About the Valor H5 Recall

According to the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), the trim around the Valor H5 gas fireplace can leak hot exhaust air, which could lead  to home damage and burn injuries.

There have been no documented injuries. But Miles Industries did receive a report  of damage to a fireplace mantle as a result of the defective trim.

The affected fireplaces were sold at the following stores between June 2014 and  March 2018:

  • Northeast Hearth & Home
  • Sutter Home & Hearth
  • Wallace’s Stove & Fireplace Hearth

The fireplaces were sold both in the United States and Canada.
