Popular Retail Stores T.J. Maxx and Marshalls Face Numerous Product Recalls; Some Products Deadly to Infants
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission recently issued a public recall for nineteen items being sold among several T.J. Maxx, HomeGoods, and Marshalls stores nationwide.
About the T.J. Maxx, HomeGoods, & Marshalls Recalls
According to WTOP, the official recall was ordered Tuesday, November 26th, and may include items that were marked down during Black Friday 2019. The same particular 19 products faced similar recalls between 2014 to 2019. Despite this, TJX Companies, owners of the three retail franchises facing recalls, decided to sell the products anyway.
Approximately, 1,200 product units were immediately recalled according to the CPSC. The diversity of the items ranged drastically from baby toys to kitchen supplies. Certain products were so entirely hazardous that severe issues such as infant mortality, lacerations, or explosion were capable of happening after product use.
TJX company owners have stepped up to acknowledge the careless incident with deeply apologetic advice and solutions. They, along with the CPSC, are advising consumers to check their products for critical recall notices and to notify participating stores for a full refund, repair, or replacement item.

- Inclined Sleeper Accessory for Ultra-Lite Day & Night Play Yards Recalled by Fisher Price
- Recall Date: June 27, 2019
- Original Sale Dates: October 2014 through June 2019
- Hazard: Infant fatalities have been reported while using other inclined sleep products, after the infants rolled from their back to their stomach or side while unrestrained, or under other circumstances.
- Portable Speakers Recalled by ION Audio
- Recall Date: May 21, 2019
- Original Sale Dates: March 2016 through March 2019
- Hazard: Hydrogen gas can leak from the portable speaker battery when charging and the speaker can burst, posing an explosion hazard.
- Rocking Sleepers Recalled by Kids II
- Recall Date: April 26, 2019

- Hazard: Infant fatalities have occurred in the Rocking Sleepers, after the infants rolled from their back to their stomach while unrestrained, or under other circumstances.

- Original Sale Dates: 2009 through April 2019
- Hazard: Infant fatalities have occurred in Rock ‘n Play Sleepers, after the infants rolled from their back to their stomach or side while unrestrained, or under other circumstances.

- Hazard: The glass and ceramic drawer knobs can break or shatter when pulled, posing a laceration hazard.
