According to KXAN, a bus traveling through an intersection near Mitchell Elementary was hit by a utility truck that failed to stop at a stop sign, causing it to roll over.

Two adults were present in the bus at the time of the accident, according to Georgetown ISD. The bus was on its way to pick up middle school students and was not carrying any children when it was struck at around 7:00 a.m. The driver and passenger were transported to Seton Williamson County hospital to be evaluated for injuries.

KXAN did not report on the status of the two individuals.

  • More than half (range: 53%-59%) of teens (13-19 years) and adults aged 20-44 years who died in crashes in 2014 were unrestrained at the time of the crash.
