Several Hospitalized in Crash between Pickup Truck and Bus

According to CNY Central, multiple people were injured in a crash between a passenger bus and a pickup truck in Syracuse, New York, on Thursday afternoon.

Details of Injury Accident

The auto accident occurred at around 2:00 p.m. local time in the 2000 block of Park Street near the DestinyUSA mall. Witnesses say that a man in a pickup truck swerved to avoid stopped traffic and lost control, driving off the road and into a bus that was stopped at a red light.

CNY Central reports that several passengers on the bus were taken to a nearby hospitals with minor injuries from the crash. None of the injuries are believed to be life-threatening. The bus driver was also hospitalized with reported chest pain. The pickup truck driver was uninjured in the crash, but his female passenger was hospitalized with chest pain.

Another bus arrived to take passengers to their intended destination, according to CNY Central. The northbound Interstate 81 exit ramp to Park Street was closed as crews cleaned up the scene of the accident. Police continue to investigate the accident and have not issued any citations or charges as of yet.
