Multiple people were injured on Friday following a school bus accident in Greenland, New Hampshire on Interstate 95.
According to authorities, a school bus veered off of Interstate 95 and crashed into trees on the side of the road. The passengers of the bus were children on a field trip for a summer program.
Police said that they have reason to believe the driver may have suffered a medical emergency in the crash.
Kendra Amaral, a town manager in Kittery, Maine, reported that 11 children and 2 adult counselors were on the bus as part of the Kittery Community Center SAFE program. There were many injuries but none were life-threatening, according to Amaral.
Police reports reveal that the most seriously injured were the driver, an 18-year-old counselor, and a 10-year-old student.
New Hampshire State Police continue to investigate the crash, Amaral says.
