At least two vehicles have been involved in an 18-wheeler accident today near Aransas Pass.
According to several news outlets, including the website of the KIII TV, an ABC-affiliated television station in Corpus Christi, the collision of an 18-wheeler semi-trailer truck and another vehicle apparently caused a “chain reaction” of other minor accidents.
This accident took place next to the intersection of Airport Road and State Highway 35, near Aransas Pass, a city in southern Texas, around 7 a.m. this Thursday on February 2, 2017.
While further details remain “very limited” at this time, and it is yet unclear whether there are any fatalities, all drivers passing through the area are advised to slow down and exercise caution.
There were also 13,616 serious injury crashes in Texas in 2015, with 17,011 people sustaining a serious injury.
There were 807 people in 2015 killed in crashes occurring in intersections or related to intersections, and there were at least 4 crashes for the year which resulted in 6 or more fatalities.
There were also 476 people killed in crashes involving distracted driving.
