Two people have been hospitalized following a helicopter crash at a Texas fairground.
According to ABC 13, the helicopter was carrying four people on a sightseeing tour when it crashed Friday on the grounds of the Texas Renaissance Festival. According to the Grimes County Sheriff’s Department, everyone had made it out of the helicopter after it crashed.
Two of the four people were wounded and transported to Houston Methodist Willowbrook Hospital. Those victims were said to have walked away from the crash. The two others were treated at the scene.
Early indications point to a malfunction with the tail rotor as a possible cause for the crash.
The U.S. helicopter accident rate and the fatal helicopter accident rate have fallen for the third consecutive year, according to Federal Aviation Administration data.
