Suspected Drunk Semi Driver Causes Six-vehicle Wreck

According to the Lakewood Patch, six vehicles were involved in a crash caused by a semi-truck driver that may have been impaired in Lakewood, Washington, on Thursday evening.

Details of Tractor-trailer Crash

The multi-vehicle crash occurred at around 2:30 p.m. between five passenger cars and a tractor-trailer. The six-vehicle pile-up happened near the intersection of the southbound Interstate 5 off-ramp to State Route 512.

Officials say the injury accident was sparked by the driver of the 18-wheeler, reports the Lakewood Patch. Several people in the accident sustained serious injuries in the crash, including a woman who required extrication from her car. Two people involved in the crash were taken to Madigan Army Medical Center on Joint Base Lewis-McChord.

Following the accident, the driver was arrested for driving while impaired.
