According to the Ohio Highway Patrol a sport-utility vehicle crossed into the approaching lane, crashing head on into two Amish buggies traveling northeast in Ohio.
Reuters reports the crash occurred Sunday morning. The highway patrol’s reports show that there were not any drugs or alcohol involved in the accident.
The individuals in the buggies ages ranged from 2-years-old to 55-years-old.
Authorities confirmed that eight people were injured, three out of the eight were children. The two drivers and five passengers were thrown from the buggies.
The injured individuals in the buggies and the driver of the SUV were transported to hospitals in the area.
One of the horses died and the other horse had minor injuries.
