Target Re-Announces Recall of Menorahs Due to Fire Hazard

Target has re-announced the recall of menorahs due to fire hazard.

When lit candles are placed within the menorahs, it can cause them to melt which also increases the risks of property damage and injury.

Incidents and Injuries Reported

The following information was provided by the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC):

  • The firm has received 8 reports of menorahs melting.
  • Of those 8 reports, 3 involved reports of fire.
  • No property damage or injuries have been reported.

Menorahs Recall Information

  • There were about 2,600 units sold.
  • The recall involves clear acrylic Hanukkah menorahs in a pyramid design that are 10.5 inches long, 1.2 inches wide and 2.3 inches high.
  • The model number 240-14-0169 and bar code can be found on a round white label on the side of each menorah.
  • The menorahs were sold exclusively at Target stores nationwide from October 2015 through December 2015 for about $20.
  • The importer was the Target Corporation of Minnesota.
  • The menorahs were manufactured in China.
