Target Recalls Easter Toys – “Life-Threatening” if Swallowed

Target has issued a nationwide recall for about 560,000 water-absorbing Hatch & Grow, Hatch Your Own Dino, and Easter Grow toys after determining the toys can be life-threatening if ingested.

About the Easter Egg Toy Recall

According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), the recall affects 560,000 Hatch & Grow, Hatch Your Own Dino, and Easter Grow toys.

The CPSC warns that if the small toy is swallowed by a child, it can expand inside the child’s body resulting in potentially fatal intestinal obstruction. Surgery is required to remove the toy from the body if ingested.

Further complicating matters is that the toys may not show up on x-ray.

Parents and guardians are urged to take the toys away from children and return them to any Target store for a full refund.

The toys were sold at Target stores between February 2017 and March 2017 for about $1.
