Thomaston Pedestrian Hit by Semi-Truck

One woman was injured when she was hit by a semi-truck.

Details about the Truck Accident

WGME News is reporting that a woman was seriously injured in an accident in which she was hit by a semi-truck. According to police, the accident happened in the downtown area of Thomaston. An employee of the town was heading to pick up mail at the post office when she was hit by a semi-truck in the intersection.

Surveillance footage of the accident shows 67-year-old Louise Demers walking down the sidewalk when an 18-wheeler pulled up to Main Street. Investigators have indicated that it appears as though the truck driver did not see the woman as she crossed in front of him.

The victim was taken to the hospital where she remains in fair condition at the Maine Medical Center. The truck driver did get out of his vehicle to help the woman and is not expected to face any charges at this time. That crash remains under investigation.
