Three Dead in Willacy County Head-On Collision

Three people were killed Friday afternoon after a Cadillac Escalade collided head-on with a Ford Expedition on U.S. 77.

Details of the Fatal Willacy County Crash

CBS 4 News reports the crash occurred around 1:30 pm when the Escalade began traveling in the wrong lane of traffic near Conley Road.

The driver of the Cadillac, 23-year-old Abraham Cerda, was killed in the crash as were both occupants of the Expedition, identified as 72-year-old Rafael Garza and 69-year-old Catalina Garza.

Authorities are still investigating the accident, and the Department of Public Safety believes alcohol may have been a factor in the fatal collision.
