Three People Critically Injured after Crash involving City Bus

According to WFLA, a man and two children were injured in a wreck involving a city bus in Winter Haven, Florida, on Wednesday morning.

Details of Injury Accident

The accident occurred on Highway 17 near Casey Avenue at around 9:00 a.m. local time. Jaron Skipper, 36, and his two children – seven-year-old Emma and four-year-old John – were driving south on Highway 17 in a pickup truck when they crashed with a city bus that had stopped to pick up passengers.

Jaron Skipper was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident, reports WFLA. The seven-year-old girl was not wearing a seatbelt either, and she was ejected from the pickup truck. John Skipper was wearing a seatbelt, but still sustained significant injuries in the wreck. All three occupants were airlifted to Tampa General Hospital in critical condition.

Four of the occupants on the Citrus Connection Bus were taken to Winter Haven Hospital for treatment of minor injuries, according to WFLA. The bus driver did not receive injuries in the crash.
