Three People Hospitalized after Pickup Hits 18-Wheeler

According to the Houston Chronicle, three adults were seriously injured in Houston after their pickup truck hit a parked 18-wheeler while it was stopped in the middle of the road.

No Alcohol Involved in the Wreck

The driver of the 18-wheeler made a stop near the intersection of Redwing Drive to open the gate of a business where he was to drop off his load, according to the Houston Chronicle. The driver of the pickup truck tried to avoid the 18-wheeler, but skidded and slammed into the back.

The accident occurred at approximately 9:30 p.m., and the section of Beaumont Highway where the accident happened was unlit.

Rescue workers were able to free the three occupants of the pickup truck and transport them to the hospital. The female passenger in the front seat was airlifted to Memorial Hermann Hospital in serious but stable condition, reports the Houston Chronicle.
