Three-Vehicle Collision Kills One, Injures Former Judge

A three-vehicle collision caused the death of one person and injured two others on Interstate 35 outside of Cotulla, Texas.

About the Crash

The Laredo Morning Times reported that the crash was reported on Wednesday around 7:50 a.m.

The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) stated that the people involved in the crash were former Webb County Justice of the Peace Ricardo Rangel, 50, Roberto Perez, 25, and the driver that was killed in the collision has not been named. Both Rangel and Perez suffered from major injuries because of the accident.

A preliminary investigation of the accident shows that the Chevy Impala driven by the unnamed person was traveling in the southbound lanes of I-35 when it suddenly veered into the northbound lanes. Upon entering those lanes, it collided with the Ford Ranger driven by Perez and a tractor trailer as well.
