According to KGTV, two people in a convertible were hospitalized after being hit by a semi-truck that lost control on the highway in San Diego, California, on Saturday morning.

Details of the Semi-truck Wreck

The injury accident occurred on Interstate 805 near Interstate 8 at around 11:30 a.m. local time. Officials say a northbound tractor-trailer blew a tire, causing it to lose control and crash into the concrete median. A convertible was struck and crushed by the rear wheels of the semi, trapping one of the occupants.

KGTV reports that rescue crews worked quickly to remove the trapped occupant from underneath one of the tires. After being extricated, the woman was taken to a local hospital for evaluation. The status of the two injured occupants is unknown.

The driver of the semi was uninjured in the crash, reports KGTV. His son, who was traveling with him, also was uninjured.
