Train-Car Crash Kills 3 Texas Children

A Saturday morning train-car crash has claimed the lives of three children in San Patricio County.

Information About the Train-Car Crash

According to KWTX, the male driver of a 2008 Mitsubishi failed to stop at a train crossing on CR 1136. A Union Pacific Train struck the Mitsubishi from the right side, sending the vehicle off the tracks and into a cable barrier.

Two children were ejected from the vehicle. A 12-year-old and an 8 year-old were pronounced dead at the scene. A third child, 5, was transported to Driscoll Children’s Hospital where she later died. The driver also suffered serious injuries.

None of the children were wearing seatbelts.
