Trek Recalls Expensive Bikes for Accident Risk

The Miami Herald reports on a recall of an expensive line of bicycles manufactured by Trek Bicycle Corporation. Safety concerns resulted from a problem with the wheels and spokes of the bikes.

Broken spokes could engage the brake caliper, causing the bike to stop suddenly and create a serious accident.

  • The bikes sold for between $1,500 and $1,900 and the wheels sold for between $80 and $90.
