According to KXAS, trucker Alton Batts, 67, has been arrested and charged with intoxication manslaughter following a fatal accident in Wylie, Texas that left a woman dead and a man injured.
The accident occurred at the intersection of Highway 78 and West Kirby Street just before 11 am, when a fully-loaded dump truck slammed into a four-door Nissan Sedan.
The collision resulted in the death of the sedan’s passenger, Jonel Brown McGehee, 83. The driver of the Nissan, 77-year-old Dannie Jackson, was transported to Medical Center Plano – his condition is unkown.
Officers who were investigating the accident arrested Batts after finding what they believed to be a small bottle of vodka in his possession. Investigations into the accident are ongoing.
