The driver of a tractor-trailer was killed on Friday during an accident that happened on the Outer Loops of the Beltway on Friday.
Details about the Fatal Accident Involving the Tractor-Trailer
WUSA 9 News is reporting that all the lanes of the Inner and Outer Loops of the Beltway have been reopened after being shut down for several hours on Friday after an accident involving a tractor-trailer.
According to authorities, the driver of the tractor-trailer was killed in the accident, which happened at Connecticut Avenue and Rockville Pike.
The accident involved a 2015 Hyundai box trailer and happened at around 4:43 a.m. on the Outer Loop of the Beltway, according to the police. When police arrived at the scene of the accident they learned that the tractor-trailer hit and split the concrete barrier before it overturned.
According to police, the driver of the tractor trailer was ejected from the truck and found unconscious at the scene. The driver was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Police have released the identity of the victim as Dennis Frampton of Maryland.
Maryland State Police said that Frampton died from injuries that he sustained in the accident.
