Charleston Truck Driver Killed in Accident

WCBD News 2 reported that a City of Charleston truck driver was involved in an accident that resulted in death.

About the Truck Accident

At the intersection of Francis St. and Oswego St. in Charleston, a truck driver was involved in a fatal accident. The worker, whose identity has not been released, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. The Charleston mayor, John Tecklenburg, released the following statement in regards to the tragedy:

“Tonight, the whole City of Charleston family is grieving the loss of a Charleston Public Service Department contract worker who died this afternoon in a tragic accident involving a city Public Service Department vehicle. Few details are known at this time, but the South Carolina Highway Patrol is leading the investigation and the Charleston County coroner will have further details after the family has been notified. For now, our thoughts and prayers are with everyone touched by this terrible tragedy.”
