One Dead in I-35 Chain Reaction Crash

A woman was fatally injured in Waco, Texas following a chain reaction accident that resulted from a traffic backup.

Details of the Fatal Waco Crash

According to KWTX, the fatal crash occurred after a traffic backup formed on I-35 following a separate collision in the northbound side of the highway at around 2:20 pm.

The first crash occurred when an 18-wheeler collided with a pickup truck. As responders were working at the scene, a second accident occurred involving a four-door sedan. A rear seat passenger of the sedan was killed in the accident.

A Honda CRV attempted to avoid the second collision, but swerved into a retaining wall and overturned. The driver of the CRV sustained minor injuries.

At least three other people were injured in the accidents.
