According to WWBT, a driver was killed in an accident after being hit by a semi head-on in Prince George, Virginia, early Monday morning.

Details of Deadly Trucking Crash

The fatal accident occurred in the 8700 block of Route 460 in Disputanta, west of Hines Road at approximately 1:30 a.m. local time. Officials say a semi-truck crashed into a pickup truck head-on, sending the semi into a roadside ditch.

The pickup truck driver died at the scene of the head-on collision, reports WWBT. Officials say the stretch of highway through Prince George has seen its share of wrecks. A truck driver told WWBT that he drives Route 460 daily and repeatedly witnesses accidents on this portion of highway.

Police are still not sure what lead to the deadly head-on crash, but they have not ruled out wet road conditions as a factor. The identity of the deceased pickup truck driver has not been released, and the condition of the tractor-trailer driver is unknown.
