One Dead in Multiple-Vehicle Crash Involving an 18-Wheeler

According to Fox40, multiple vehicles were involved in a crash with an 18-wheeler that left one person dead in Manteca, California.

Accident Under Investigation

A line of cars stuck in traffic stopped and slowed down on Highway 120 heading eastbound on Monday evening. According to officials, a semi-truck traveling behind the line of cars crashed into a pickup truck after failing to slow down, causing a chain reaction.

The pickup truck crashed into another car, flipping over the top of the car. Fox40 reports that several additional cars were pushed into each other, overturning onto the side of the road.

A driver of a Honda Accord, who was hit by the pickup truck, was killed in the crash. The Honda caught on fire after being pushed onto the shoulder of the road, according to Fox40.

Fox40 reports that the cause of the multi-vehicle crash is still under investigation, but weather does not seem to have been a factor.
