According to WTSP, an adult was hospitalized after a school bus was hit by a semi in San Antonio, Florida, on Tuesday afternoon.

Truck Driver Found Negligent

The injury accident occurred on State Road 52 underneath the overpass of Interstate 75 at around 5:00 p.m. local time. A school bus was traveling westbound on SR 52 when it was struck nearly head-on by a tractor-trailer attempting to turn onto the southbound interstate on-ramp.

WTSP reports that five children were on the bus at the time of the crash, but none of them were seriously hurt. The driver of the bus was uninjured in the wreck, but another adult on board was injured in the crash and taken to Florid Hospital Wesley Chapel.

Officials say the semi-truck driver impatiently drove around a car in front of him in the left turn lane before crashing into the bus that was driving in the opposite direction. WTSP reports that the driver, 43-year-old David A. Dunlop, was found to be negligent and was charged with failing to yield to oncoming traffic.
