Truck Driver Killed in Trucking Accident

One man was killed and another was injured in an early morning crash in Midland.

Details about the Fatal Accident

News West 9 is reporting that one man was killed and another man was injured in an early morning motor vehicle accident that happened in Midland County.

According to troopers from the Department of Public Safety, the accident happened just before 7 a.m. on Monday morning on FM 1379, which is just about 18 miles southeast of Midland.

Troopers from the Department of Public Safety further stated that an 18-wheeler that was being driven by 39-year-old Damien Woodard, of Red Oak, Texas, was driving northbound on FM 1379 when, for an unknown reason, the tractor-trailer moved over into the oncoming lane of traffic and hit another 18-wheeler that was traveling southbound.

Woodard was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

The driver of the other tractor-trailer, 67-year-old Danny Norris, of Rowlett, Texas, was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The accident currently remains under investigation.
