Two-Car Collision Kills Woman, Injures Three Others

According to The Independent, a woman was fatally injured in a crash between two vehicles outside of Cairo, Nebraska, on Tuesday evening.

Details of the Fatal Car Crash

The car accident occurred on Highway 2 and Schauppsville Road at around 6:07 p.m. local time approximately four miles east of Cairo. Officials say Colleen Race, 29, and her passenger, Terrill Sorensen, 41, were driving east in a Ford Mustang when they were hit by a car traveling westbound.

The Independent reports that the westbound car, driven by 23-year-old Brandon Salyers, crossed over the center dividing line and into the path of the Ford Mustang. Sorensen was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. Race was taken to CHI Health St. Francis for treatment of injuries.

Salyers and a passenger, 22-year old Jesse Adams, were also taken to CHI Health St. Francis with undisclosed injuries. The Independent reports that an accident reconstruction team is assisting with the scene. The fatal accident remains under investigation.
