Two Dead, One Hospitalized in Two-vehicle Crash at Intersection

According to NBC26, two elderly people suffered from fatal injuries in a two-vehicle crash in Sheboygan County, Wisconsin, on Wednesday evening.

Details of the Fatal Car Collision

Lewis Schmidt, 80, and Geraldine Schmidt, 79, approached the intersection of State Highway 57 and County Road FF in the Town of Rhine at approximately 6:30 p.m. local time. A 72-year-old woman in another vehicle approached the same intersection.

Police say one of the vehicles traveling east failed to stop at the stop sign and crashed into the vehicle driving northbound on Highway 57, reports NBC26.

Geraldine Schmidt died at the scene of the accident, and her husband Lewis died on the transport to the hospital. The Schmidts hailed from Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin, according to NBC26.

The woman in the other vehicle suffered from serious but non-life-threatening injuries. NBC26 reports that she received treatment at Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center.
