Two Dead, Several Injured after 18-Wheeler Causes Crash

According to KTXS, two people were killed and several others hospitalized after an 18-wheeler crossed the highway median, slamming into multiple vehicles on I-20 in Sweetwater, Texas.

The 18-wheeler was traveling westbound when it crossed the median, hitting three cars traveling eastbound. As the truck crossed the median, the cable barrier snapped, hitting another vehicle, a DPS spokesman tells KTXS.

One of the seriously injured victims was taken to Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene by helicopter. The other crash victims were taken to nearby Rolling Plains Hospital in Sweetwater.

The accident occurred at around 9:30 a.m. on Monday, KTXS reports.
