Two Dead, Three Injured in Minivan – Garbage Truck Collision

According to the Detroit Free Press, two people died and three others were injured after a minivan crashes into a garbage truck stopped in the middle of the road in Oxford Township, Michigan.

Details of the Fatal Crash

Four people in a minivan were traveling on Ray Road near Oxford Road at around 8:30 p.m. local time when the crash occurred. The minivan smashed into the garbage truck sitting in the road, which had suffered a mechanical failure.

The minivan driver and passenger, died from the collision. One of the victims received treatment at a hospital before succumbing to injuries. A 32-year-old passenger and a 5-year-old in the minivan also received treatment at a hospital. The child is listed as in stable condition, according to the Detroit Free Press.

The driver of the minivan was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident. According to the Detroit Free Press, the garbage truck driver suffered minor injuries and was hospitalized as a precautionary measure.
